Aside from your password, the two-factor authentication (commonly abbreviated 2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your user’s login on Holded to ensure the protection of your account. This kind of authentication via phone SMS guarantees that you are the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows your password.
Why turn on two-factor authentication for your Holded account?
Passwords can become vulnerable due to reasons like reuse, poor encryption, or social engineering, among others. 2FA ensures the protection of your user account, even if your password is compromised. Therefore, this method dramatically improves the security of your Holded account and all the information stored in it.
How does 2FA work?
With two-factor authentication, only you can access your account on a trusted device. When you want to sign in to your Holded account, you'll need to provide two pieces of information—your password and the six-digit verification code that's automatically sent to your phone number. By entering the code, you're verifying that you trust the device from where you are accessing your Holded account.
Once signed in, you can choose to trust your current device, so your credentials won’t be asked again in the future.

If you lose access to your trusted device or your original phone number, please contact our Customer Success team via Holded’s app or website as soon as possible so that we can help fix any security issues.
