Creating your first bank in Holded is simple, this article will explain how to create a bank and cash account.
How to create a bank
To start creating a bank, click on the invoicing app and then click on the Treasury tab from the left hand side nav bar. When you're in the Treasury section, click New
- If you want to add a bank or card, you must choose the bank. If you want to create a cash account, click on the Cash option. You'll then need to give this account a name and choose a currency.
- When creating the bank / card it's important to access this through the correct banking entity, this can either be business or individuals. This is dependent on the type of account you have and this will need to be chosen correctly for the bank synchronisation to work correctly.
- It's also important to introduce the same credentials as those of your online banking and mark the option of remembering credentials in order to avoid having to re-enter them each time.
Can I make a transfer from Holded?
It is not possible to make transfers or make bank movements to pay bills, from Holded. Holded will only import the information from your bank statements so you can control and record all your movements from the same page and app.
Can I reconcile the cash account?
The cash account can't be reconciled as It's not possible to synchronise or import a bank statement. The movements will be created automatically when creating a payment or payment from Holded.

Automatic synchronisation: Now that you have created the bank, you can automatically synchronise the bank statement, so that it appears in Holded and you don't have to enter your online bank to check your movements.
Import your statement: If you don't want to activate the synchronisation with your bank you can import the bank statement using the Excel import template we have available to reconcile your bank movements later on.
