Archive a sales channel
How to access:
- Go to Sales and click on the Sales Channels tab
- Select a sales channel by clicking on the "check box" on the left to the sales channel name
- Click on "Archive" from the list of options that appear below
What does archiving a sales channel mean? When you archive a sales channel, it'll be removed from your account and it'll be archived in the Accounting - Chart of Accounts. When you create a new invoice you won't be able to select that channel .
You can only delete the accounting account if the balance equals to zero.
Have you stopped using a sales channel or have you made a mistake when creating it? Below we will explain how you can archive a sales channel.
1) Archive a sales channel
- Go to Sales click on Sales Channels
- Select a sales channel through the "check box" on the left
- Click on the "Archive" button
When you click on Archive, the below will occur as a result:
- When you create a new invoice you will not be able to select that sales channel
- It won't appear in the list of sales channels
How to delete a sales channel? To permanently delete a sales channel, you'll need to make sure that your balance equals zero for any year. You can see this from Accounting then click on the Chart of Accounts tab.
2) Remove a sales channel
- Go to Accounting and then click on Chart of Accounts
- Click Segments and then select Archived
- Select a sales channel by marking the "checkbox" on the left of the sales channel name
- Click on the "Delete" button
When you click on Show Archives, you'll be able to see the sales channel that you have archived. If you don't have a balance, you can permanently delete it.
