The corrective sales invoice is a type of document that is used to detail some correction in the original invoice, add some incomplete information or indicate orders returns.
When creating a corrective sales invoice you must always report the amount in positive, once saved Holded will automatically convert it into negative.
In Holded you will be able to create, convert, relate and reconcile a corrective sales invoice according to what you need.
Creating an independent credit note
Use this option when the customer has paid the full amount of the invoice.
In the event that the amount to correct is the total value of the original invoice, once the credit note has been created, you have to add the payment in order to record it.
If the rectification covers a partial value of the original invoice, once the credit note has been created, you have to add the partial payment in the original invoice order to record it.
If you have to reconcile an independent credit note, you should reconcile the negative movement of the statement with the payment registered in the invoice.

Converting a sales invoice into a credit note
This option is indicated when the customer has not yet paid the invoice or has only paid it partially.
In case the amount to correct is the total value of the original invoice, the original invoice will be charged and the credit note paid automatically.
If the credit note covers a partial value of the original invoice, you will have to edit the total amount of it. When saving, the original invoice will be partially charged and the credit note paid.
When you go to reconcile the original invoice, you will see that it is already done. If you have issued an amendment for a part of the total, only the difference between the amounts will remain to be reconciled.

Relating a credit note invoice to its original
This option allows you to, in the event that the client has not paid, collect the original invoice and get the credit note paid, as long as you didn't choose the option to convert your invoice previously.
When you go to reconcile the original invoice, you will see that it is already done. If you have issued an amendment for a part of the total, only the difference between the amounts will remain to be reconciled.

Reconciling a credit note
Depending on whether the credit note is related to the original invoice or not, the reconciliation will be carried out differently:
- Independent credit note
Once the credit note has been created, you have to proceed to add the payment to register it. Reconcile the original invoice against the collection and the credit note against the registered payment. - Related credit note
When you reconcile the original invoice, you will see that it is already done. If you have issued an amendment for a part of the total amount, only the difference between amounts will need to be reconciled.
