You need to activate the Inventory gem from the Holded store to access the following advanced options of inventory management.
Whether you have one store or multiple warehouses, Holded helps you keep track of your inventory easily depending on your needs.
The inventory management can be done in two different ways: at the individual product level or in bulk.
Individual products
This method helps you keep individual control of a specific product’s inventory from the Products section. For example, it will be used when a store wants to update the number of products after a sale.

In Bulk
You have the possibility to update the stock data of your products in bulk by using either templates or from the platform itself.
Manage your inventory using templates
This method uses templates to help companies with more products to control the inventory of several items at the same time, whether in stores or warehouses.
For bulk inventory updates, Holded offers you three templates:
Stocktake
Update the current and total quantity of products in your warehouses with an editable spreadsheet. The update will be done through the number of products you have in your final stock.

Stock adjustment by SKU
This template is recommended in case you need to update only some products in your inventory through their corresponding SKU. The spreadsheet is empty by default, you’ll need to fill it with the data of just those products that you need to update.
Bear in mind that in order to perform the update correctly, you will need to assign an SKU to each of your products and lots.
Through the SKU you can update simple products, products with variants, lots, and products with serial numbers. In the case of pack products, their corresponding stock will be updated automatically when updating the stock of the items that are part of the pack.

Stock adjustment by SKU (with products)
In this template, you will find a list with all your products and current stock in Holded, so that you can easily identify those items that you need to update.

In both updates by SKU, you can decide whether to add (adding the number of products in your stock) or subtract (updating the differences in your inventory):
ADD
You had 14 shirts, you have updated your inventory and now there are 20. You will then have to update the sum (6) in the spreadsheet and upload it to Holded.
SUBTRACT
You had 20 shirts, you have updated your inventory and now there are 14. You will then have to update the difference (-6) in the spreadsheet and upload it to Holded.
Manage your inventory from the platform
You can manage the inventory of your products directly in Holded through the Stock adjustments feature within Inventory. From the platform, you can access your entire list of SKUs and add those you want to update. Likewise, you can view the following data related to every stock change:
- Date on which the stock change is registered
- Description of the stock adjustment that will be shown in the product’s stock history
This field is optional, but it is useful to indicate relevant details about specific stock changes.
- Warehouse: name or ID of the warehouse where the stock change is made
It is very important to indicate this information correctly if you have more than one warehouse.
- Total inventory count
